SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST
SUMMARY: This position is a full time position with four days on site at the school, and one day off site for paperwork completion. This position will provide an opportunity for a range of school psychological services consistent with NASP domains of School Psychology Training and Practice including varying types of assessment linked to intervention for academic, behavioral and social/emotional/behavioral issues; consultation; behavior analysis and intervention; counseling; and prevention.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have completed a School Psychology practicum while enrolled in an approved Illinois School Psychology Program working towards a School Support Personnel Endorsement with a specialization in School Psychology in the state of Illinois
  • Expertise and background with RtI and PBIS preferred
  • Certification in Crisis Prevention Institute, onsite training available if necessary
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • Efficient time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, problem-solving skills and flexibility
  • Strong counseling capabilities
  • Proficient with assessment, data collection and evaluation processes
  • Ability to lead data-based decision making and problem solving at the building, grade and individual student level
  • Ability to collaborate with all stakeholders within the educational community
  • Knowledge of IDEA rules/regulations and Illinois procedural requirements

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform in a leadership capacity with RtI and PBIS teams
  • Lead school in data collection, aggregation and analysis
  • Facilitate individual problem solving team meetings and develop intervention plans
  • Development of instructional planning forms (IPF's) based on student need
  • Provide consultation with teachers, administrators, and parents regarding difficulties with student learning and behavior
  • Conduct and lead functional behavior assessment process (FBA)
  • Develop, implement and monitor behavior intervention plans (BIP's)
  • Conduct universal screening, progress monitoring and individual assessment
  • Complete case study evaluations and facilitate eligibility/entitlement determinations
  • Facilitate IEP domain meetings and maintain compliance for (re)-evaluations
  • Administration of a variety of assessment tools including standardized and curriculum based measures at an individual, group and system level
  • Interpretation of student data in the areas of academic, cognitive, and social/emotional/behavioral areas
  • Report writing and preparation/completion of IEP paperwork
  • Plan and organize the building meeting schedule including problem solving, domain, annual review, initial and re-evaluation meetings
  • Case management and evaluation for building 504 plans
  • Provide social skills training to students
  • Provide therapeutic intervention/counseling for students with social/emotional/behavioral needs
  • Coordinate and facilitate professional development opportunities for school community
  • Participate in fidelity monitoring of universal screening and interventions
  • Resource and referral with community-based agencies
  • Crisis management
  • Mandated reporter

The employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment ranges from quiet to moderately loud. The employee may be exposed to students with communicable medical conditions.
