Our client is seeking a Physical Therapist for children's services to work with students with disabilities and serious health impairments, the Physical Therapist is expected to create and carry out treatment plans, evaluate needs of students, screen students who may be appropriate candidates for physical therapy services, make environmental modifications and work with staff to manage physical needs.

Please note: This role is for an external client and would a direct placement in a Non-Northwell site.
Requirements:
- Synthesizes evaluation results into a comprehensive written report which reflects strengths and barriers to student participation in the educational environment; directs program development; and guides evidence-based intervention.
- Evaluates the student's ability and formulates the student's profile through a variety of functional, behavioral, and standardized assessments, skilled observation, checklists, histories, and interviews.
- Develops and presents therapeutic activities to benefit special education students in the least restrictive environment.
- Implements individual and group treatment for Physical Therapy.
- Consulting with school and supervisory staff on matters relating to Physical Therapy including: instruction on therapeutic intervention; appropriate use of therapeutic equipment, methods, and instruction; and student's current level of function.
- Consulting with parents/guardians regarding treatment goals, specialized therapeutic equipment, and other recommendations to enhance the student's functional ability within the classroom and home setting.
Qualifications:
- Valid State NYS Physical Therapy license from the New York State Office of Profession
- Masters or Doctoral degree from a CAPTE-accredited program
The salary range for this position is $40-$45/hour
