Location: The Children's Institute, 1405 Shady Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15217
Entry-Level Salary: $ 41,616/year. Additional compensation based on experience. $2,500 sign on bonus
Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Administering medications as ordered.
- Screening students and provides emergency care.
- Monitoring special health needs of students.
- Providing required procedures as appropriate in a school setting.
- Implementing health screenings according to state regulations.
- Notifying families of scheduled screenings and results.
- Maintaining documentation on the Health Record.
- Providing Lead TDS Nurse with daily reports of student accidents, incidents and illnesses.
- Providing student/staff/family teaching.
- Maintaining policies and procedure manual.
- Maintaining necessary data for statistics and reports.
- Attending in-service training and/or conferences as needed.
- Cooperating in team approach.
- Maintaining student confidentiality and protects student rights.
- Adhering to the policies of the facility.
- Functioning within legal boundaries of nursing.
- Completing all student documentation accurately and within facility time frames.
- Completing all administrative documentation accurately and timely.
- Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
- At least 1 year of Experience working with a pediatric population.
- Ability to lift, position, and feed students with disabilities; assist them physically in transferring to and from wheelchairs to other equipment and lifting on to and off school transportation vehicles.
- Act 73 FBI, State Act 34-Criminal, and State Act 33-Child Abuse Clearances
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- School Nurse certification preferred.
- Current and valid CPR and Frist Aid certification (if not, we will provide training).
