- Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
- Manages surgery/procedural scheduling with assigned physician at appropriate facilities, and supporting services including the initial scheduling, rearranging surgical patients based on the surgeon preference, facility needs, and lifting surgeon blocks to improve utilization of time.
- Verifies Insurance and authorizations for surgeries.
- Audits chart for surgical prep information completeness prior to scheduling with appropriate facility or department.
- Schedules accurately to prevent operative/procedural delays and case cancellations.
- Captures physician requests for scheduling STAT cases and attempts to complete within 72 hours.
- Liaison to the patient during the scheduling process providing and communicating information on surgical/procedural date/time, itinerary, maps/directions and important information necessary for a positive experience.
- Arranges pre and post-operative appointments for assigned patients.
- Processes patient communication, written/verbal by receiving calls, patient consults, data input, problem delegation/resolution, and process improvement.
- Organizes work time in order complete task in assigned timeframe while identifying and escalating issues as appropriate, demonstrating priority setting, decision-making and problem solving.
- Communicates issues/problems in a timely manner to direct supervisor/designee.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
