Department Overview
The Dispatch and Scheduling department is within the Gas Operations Line of Business and provides support to the Gas Operations and Customer Operations organizations. We assist in the planning, scheduling and execution of Gas service work and resources. Our goal is to create and maintain a Safe sound work plans while delivering on department objectives.
Position Summary
A Scheduler in Training is an entry level classification represented by Engineers and Scientists of California (ESC) and issubject to collective bargaining. A Scheduler-in-Training will progress to the Scheduler classification after twelve months of service. The individual is responsible for scheduling resources/work for Gas service functions throughout PG&E's service territory.
PG&E is providing the hourly rate that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This position is subject to collectively bargained hourly wage rates and increases. The starting wage rate for this position is $54.26 per hour. This wage rate is specific to the locality of the job. The wage rate is based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreements, and internal equity.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with Distribution Coordinators, Field Supervisors, Dispatch and other internal departments to allocate available resources to project and compliance work by using technologies such as; Workforce Availability (WA), Dispatch Application (DA), Customer Care & Billing (CC&B)
- Review resource requests, assign resources to work requests and ensure resources are available to be scheduled for appointment booking windows.
- Modify schedules as necessary; ensuring that the proper work is completed as planned
- Consistently meet measured and monitored deadlines that play a large role in enabling PG&E to meet annual goals and targets
- Maintain customer focus by being organized, detailed and able to work in a team
- Manage multiple tasks and exercise decision making skills in a fast paced, high-stress environment
- Attend training and procedural meetings as needed
- Contribute toward Gas Safety Excellence goals by improving safety, reliability and affordability for one or more asset families and one or more life cycles
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must possess a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- Must possess a valid California Driver’s License or ability to obtain within 10 days of hire.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, extended hours, nights, weekends, and/or overtime (scheduled or ad hoc)
- Internal PG&E employees: Must have qualified on the Scheduler Test Battery (STB) exam and the Work Orientation Inventory (WOI) exam prior to applying.
- External and Hiring Hall candidates: Must qualify on the Scheduler Test Battery (STB) exam and the Work Orientation Inventory (WOI) exam prior to interviewing.
Desired Qualifications:
- Workforce Availability, FAS Scheduling Workforce Optimization, Salesforce, Scheduling experience
- 1+ year experience in a dispatch environment
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products- Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Current or previous PG&E employee
- Current or previous Hiring Hall employee
