Job description

As a Salesforce Developer, you’ll work on the Shared Services Technology Team as a key member of our Salesforce Team to aid in maximizing the growth and efficiency of Cerity Partners’ Service Cloud Salesforce instance. The ideal candidate is an experienced Salesforce Developer that enjoys working in a team environment who is interested in a role that focuses on designing and developing solutions to support organizational initiatives using both programmatic and declarative tools. They should lead with a declarative mindset, have a passion for user experience, and the ability to deliver programmatic solutions utilizing Apex and Lightning Web Components when required. This individual should also have a deep understanding of APIs and integrations. You will collaborate with the Salesforce Administrators and various stakeholders to gather requirements, architect, and build solutions, as well as support and improve existing configurations.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Design, develop, implement, enhance, and maintain Salesforce customizations, applications, and integrations.
  • Participate in gathering and translating business requirements into well-architected solutions that best leverage the Salesforce platform features and products.
  • Build Flows, develop Apex and Lightning Web Components to support business requirements.
  • Develop, execute, and resolve test plans, integration testing and user acceptance testing.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation as well as the firm knowledge base.
  • Strive towards coding best practices and design patterns to create optimum applications developed on the Salesforce platform.
  • Assist with system integrations, APIs and administration of third-party tools associated with Salesforce, such as DocuSign and Conga Orchestrate.
  • Debug and resolve production issues, and user support requests through internal ticketing tools.
  • Implement processes and procedures to ensure Cerity Partners client data meets or exceeds firm standards.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to customize, develop, design, document and manage ongoing system enhancements to meet the organization’s goals and initiatives.
  • Remain current with Salesforce technologies, releases, and best practices.
  • Special Projects: Work on a diverse set of special projects ranging from unique multi-system client onboarding buildouts to corporate data reporting and visualization.


Ideal Candidate Profile – “Our Casting Call!”

  • 4+ years of experience in administration and development of Salesforce Sales or Service Cloud.
  • Salesforce Administrator, Platform App Builder, and Platform Developer I Certifications.
  • Experience with Flow, Apex, and the Lightning Component Framework.
  • Experience with APIs and integrations.
  • Experience with effective Salesforce DevOps practices.
  • Experience with SQL, Python and/or JavaScript a plus
  • Ability to work independently with a fully remote team.
  • Excellent business communicator.
  • An understanding of the limits of the Salesforce platform, e.g. where declarative ends and development begins.
  • Ability to continuously grow and learn new tools/languages as projects require.
  • Interest in developing personal network through participation in the Trailblazer Community, networking events, and technology organizations.
  • Passion and experience in the Financial Services industry a plus.


The Team

Shared Services Technology is a department within Cerity Partners that focuses on internal tool development at Cerity Partners. We tackle big projects like building data integrations between 20 different systems using Linux and Python hosted on Azure, creating contract processing automation within Salesforce, building custom revenue split tracking tools, data warehousing, and more. We are currently 25 people strong, with 8 of those colleagues focused on Salesforce.
