Morgan Hill client seeks Sales & Use Tax Analyst responsible for sales and Use Tax reporting and compliance. Temp-to-hire. $45-50/hr, M-F 8am-5pm (or 9am-6pm), vision/health/dental benefits through Certified Employment.
Responsibilities:
- Work with external vendors on the timely preparation, payment and filing of sales/Use Tax returns for most U.S. states and several local tax jurisdictions.
- Support of accounts payable.
- Collect and prepare data for sales/Use Tax returns
- Reconcile sales/Use Tax general ledger account balances on a monthly basis.
- Resolve various sales tax inquiries in regard to tax status on customer and vendor orders
- Provide timely and accurate responses to business unit and external customer inquiries on sales and Use Tax matters, including tax exemption applications and taxability determinations
- Remain current on tax law changes and changes in the business activities of the Company
- Identify and reduce risks of sales/Use Tax exposure
- Maintain tax exemption certificates
- Support general accounting and/or other related items
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Reports directly to the Senior Tax Manager and indirectly to the Senior Accounting Manager
Requirements:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
- Basic computer skills
- Prior sales and Use Tax experience in Corporate Tax or Public Accounting
- Knowledge of OneSource and/or SAP S/4Hana is a plus
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
- Detail-oriented with an understanding of the relationships between systems
- Ability to work with A/P, A/R, procurement, and other business functions
- Ability to work independently
- Communicate effectively with a positive and productive disposition
