About this role
This position will be a key contributor to the tax team and will be responsible for providing income tax provisions and direct and indirect tax compliance support, as well as process improvements to scale tax operations. This candidate should expect to work cross-functionally and collaboratively and manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment. This position will report to the Head of Tax Reporting and Compliance.
What you'll do
- Reporting to the Head of Tax Reporting and Compliance, the successful candidate will assist with domestic and international tax reporting and compliance.
- Support the monthly close process, including the preparation of tax account reconciliations and transfer pricing calculations.
- Assist with the preparation of the quarterly and annual consolidated income tax provisions and reporting under U.S. GAAP.
- Support SOX compliance through documentation and timely performance of controls.
- Work closely with FP&A to support the quarterly/annual ETR and cash tax forecast processes.
- Work with internal and external partners to manage all aspects of outsourced U.S. federal, state, and local income and indirect tax filings and international tax filings.
- Assist with tax authority audits, which include coordinating timelines, requests, and responses throughout the audits.
- Work with external service providers to manage Form 1099 and other information reporting requirements.
- Conduct tax research to analyze the income tax implications of new tax legislation or new business initiatives.
- Support special projects, such as R&D tax credit studies, and due diligence for M&A and international expansion.
- Support the evolution of the tax reporting function, tax technology tools, and technological enhancements.
- Assist with ad hoc requests and projects as necessary.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of corporate tax compliance and accounting experience with a mix of public accounting and in-house experience in ASC 740 preferred.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent).
- Proactive and resourceful team player with positive attitude and energy, and close attention to detail.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and time-management skills.
- A strong attention to detail and analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize various projects.
- Experience in the technology industry or marketplace platform businesses.
- CPA is preferred.
- Proficient computer skills including strong working knowledge of Excel and aptitude to learn new software.
- Knowledge of NetSuite ERP, Google Suite, and Mode or similar tools.
Salary Range
San Francisco*: the pay range for this role is $103,000 to $141,500 per year.
This role will also be eligible for equity and benefits. Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands, and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
