Sales Tax Consultant / Accounting Research Assistant

Who You Are:

Gable is currently searching for a detail-oriented Sales Tax Consultant andAccounting Research Assistant to join our team. This Research Assistant will assist management with research regarding Sales and Use tax law compliance and draft technical accounting memos.

Ideally, you will have previous experience as a paralegal, accountant or Accounting Research Assistant. You have a proven background of being self-motivated, organized, collaborative, autonomous, and proactive.

This is a 100% remote role that can be done from anywhere in the country. Technology will be provided. Team members are awarded a generous benefits package, matching 401(k) and flexible work schedule.

What You'll Do:

• Identify and organize taxability scenarios.
• Thoroughly conduct tax research and analyze tax rates and geographic codes.
• Understanding accounting concepts and analysis of accounting transactions.
• Read, review and interpret law as it applies to Sales Tax.
• Prepares technical accounting memos with detailed analyses and interpretations of tax law.
• Process and review data efficiently and accurately.
• Serve as a key point of contact and provide expertise and excellent client service to Fortune 500 companies.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• 1+ years of experience writing technical accounting memos.
• 2-5 years' professional experience as a technical accountant, Accounting Research Assistant or paralegal.
• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or other relevant field is preferred, but not required.
• Paralegal certificate obtained through a paralegal studies program approved by the ABA or from an accredited college or university, preferred but not required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, be disciplined and self-directed in a 100% remote work environment.
• Highly organized and able to multitask.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $66,560.00 - $67,730.00 per year
