We are seeking a Sales Manager, to support the mission-critical challenges for the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community (IC).
The Sales Manager’s primary responsibility is to generate new business for the BISim business, specifically in the military and national security markets. This includes, but not limited to, building and maintaining a target list of potential clients, presenting to potential new clients, “cold calling” potential new clients and having a thorough understanding of the BISim business, as well as an understanding of other BISim family of products. The Manager focuses their primary efforts to opening up new markets and diversifying the client base, to engage existing customers with new and innovative solutions that will boost the income of the organization.
A key role of the Sales Manager is the management and execution of the full Sales life-cycle process across multiple simultaneous pursuits in a high-paced environment through the direct engagement, internal and external partnerships, campaigns, and associated marketing. Collaboration with a team of Sales and Product Development, Engineering, and Marketing professionals is paramount in achievement of BISim’s short and long-term business development goals by growing and maintaining a robust pipeline of opportunities to achieve the group’s annual financial objectives.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent and at least 5 years of related experience
- 2+ years of experience in sales, business development and/or capture teams
- Proven track record of successful capture and pipeline management across multiple DoD organizations and program offices at a variety of acquisition sizes
- Experience working directly in the simulation/training and/or mission planning and rehearsal industry is preferred
- Experience with Government (Intel/DoD) budget, investments and acquisition processes
- Demonstrated access to key government customers and industry partners
- Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
- Ability to use tools such as Microsoft Office to present ideas, information, and reports and a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) to track opportunities and manage pipeline
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Knowledge in simulation, training, mission support software, and digital modernization tradecraft domains
- Ability to gain internal support, operate independently with limited supervision and feedback, and establish a solid working relationship with senior management, technical staff, division managers, and peers in the Group and across BISim
- Travel as required ~50% per month (depending on base location)
- Experience working with software and engineering development team to address market needs
- Ability to generate new customers and expand uses of the current technology into new markets
- Ability to develop a sales contact plan to include cold-calling, direct marketing, and attending industry events to build relationships with key prospects
- Ability to respond to incoming Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs) in a professional and creative manner
- Understanding of prospects business needs and develop a tailored proposal using all relevant BISim products and solutions, drawing on expert internal resource as required
