The right Sales Manager checklist will include equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator.
In this role, you will be accountable for the overall group sales success of the Corporate market for Dollywood Theme Park and Dollywood's Splash Country.
Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable.
Summary of Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Provide Exceptional Customer Service:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for corporate clients throughout the sales process and beyond.
    • Address client inquiries, concerns, and requests in a timely and professional manner.
    • Coordinate with operational teams to ensure the smooth execution of corporate events and experiences.
  • Weekly Reporting and Activity Maintenance:
    • Compile comprehensive reports detailing sales activities, encompassing lead generation efforts, client interactions, and progress towards sales targets. These reports serve as invaluable tools for assessing performance, identifying areas for improvement, and strategizing future sales initiatives.
    • Implement structured sales processes to ensure consistency and efficiency in your daily operations. This involves proactive outreach to potential clients, meticulous follow-up communication, and nurturing relationships to advance leads through the sales funnel.
  • Goal Achievement:
    • Diligently work towards achieving predetermined sales goals, set in alignment with organizational objectives. Regular performance evaluations and adjustments to strategies will enable you to optimize results and contribute significantly to revenue growth at Dollywood Parks and Resorts.

Education and Experience Required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Theme Park industry, tourism industry sales, hotel/convention sales or consumer product sales background required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or related field.
  • Proven track record of successful sales experience, preferably in the hospitality, entertainment, or tourism industry.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Above average verbal and written communication skills.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving sales targets and objectives.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by business demands.
  • Knowledge of the local and regional corporate market dynamics is a plus.
  • Ability to problem solve, multi-task and work independently.
  • Mature professional judgment to establish customer procedures while providing solutions to customer requests.
  • Above average math skills.
  • Ability to operate a calculator, multi-line telephone, computer, copier, facsimile and postage machine.
  • Ability to organize marketing and administrative functions effectively.

Sales Process and Pipeline Management:
As a Corporate Sales Representative at Dollywood Parks and Resorts, your success hinges on your ability to effectively manage the sales process and keep your pipeline full of prospective leads. Here's how you will excel in these key areas:
  • Prospect Identification and Lead Generation:
    • Utilize market research, industry insights, and networking opportunities to identify potential corporate clients and organizations.
    • Actively seek out new leads through strategic outreach efforts, including cold calling, email campaigns, and attendance at industry events and conferences.
    • Leverage existing networks and partnerships to expand your reach and uncover new business opportunities.
  • Qualification and Relationship Building:
    • Engage with prospects to understand their needs, preferences, and objectives for corporate events and outings.
    • Qualify leads based on their level of interest, budgetary considerations, and alignment with Dollywood's offerings and values.
    • Cultivate meaningful relationships with prospects through personalized communication, attentive listening, and genuine rapport-building efforts.
  • Cultivate Long-Term Relationships:
    • Foster strong relationships with corporate clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
    • Conduct regular follow-ups and post-event evaluations to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
    • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and client preferences to adapt sales strategies accordingly.
  • Customized Sales Presentations and Proposals:
    • Craft compelling sales presentations and proposals tailored to the unique requirements and aspirations of each corporate client.
    • Showcase the diverse array of attractions, amenities, and experiences available at Dollywood Parks and Resorts, highlighting their suitability for corporate gatherings and celebrations.
    • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including marketing, operations, and culinary teams, to ensure alignment between client expectations and organizational capabilities.
  • Negotiation and Closing:
    • Navigate the negotiation process with finesse, balancing the needs of the client with the revenue objectives of Dollywood Parks and Resorts.
    • Articulate the value proposition of our offerings and address any concerns or objections raised by prospective clients.
    • Close deals with confidence, ensuring that contractual agreements are mutually beneficial and aligned with the interests of both parties.
  • Pipeline Management and Follow-Up:
    • Maintain a robust pipeline of leads and opportunities by diligently tracking prospects through various stages of the sales cycle.
    • Implement effective CRM tools and methodologies to streamline lead management, task prioritization, and follow-up activities.
    • Regularly communicate with prospects to provide updates, address inquiries, and nurture relationships through consistent engagement and timely follow-up.
  • Able to make a friendly impression when speaking to or corresponding with guests, vendors, and other employees.
  • Must reflect Dollywood's image by being genuinely friendly and caring and by taking pride in work.
  • Must be self-motivated and disciplined.
  • Must be able to prioritize and complete work assignments on a timely basis.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality and judgment regarding privileged information.
