Description
The UT Martin Department of Management, Marketing, and Information Systems (MMIS) seeks an Administrative Support Assistant III who will assist and support the Chair by managing the business, financial, budgeting, and administrative responsibilities of MMIS. The assistant will support the Chair in registration assistance, record maintenance, coordination of travel and all paperwork for departmental faculty, and maintenance of records related to faculty evaluation, tenure/promotion, teaching schedule, office hours, and personnel information. The Administrative Support Assistant III will also perform departmental duties through IRIS, Banner, Concur, or equivalent administration software.
Duties include:
• Organize and oversee the daily activities of the office.
• Keep schedules for regular faculty and adjuncts.
• Schedule daily activities for student workers.
• Handle written and electronic communication and appointments for the office and Chair.
• Enter, verify, and maintain all financial and human resource records for MMIS.
• Enter invoices, internal transfer vouchers, and budget revisions.
• Reconcile procurement cards and departmental ledgers.
• Process faculty, staff, and student worker payroll
• Verify and maintain departmental equipment and key records.
• Maintain records for AACSB and SACS Accreditations for assessment.
• Organize, enter, and maintain all information and records related to MMIS courses.
• Oversee search procedures, including preparation of forms, guidelines, and schedules.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualification
• High School diploma or GED and two years of office experience.
• Customer service, oral-written communication, time management, teamwork, organizational, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to demonstrate commitment to the College's Code of Ethics and Guiding Principles (Accountability, Inclusion, Respect, Trust, and Transparency).
• Ability to handle demanding situations effectively.
• Ability to produce accurate and quality results.
• Ability to interact with students, faculty, staff, and administrators both in and outside the College of Business and Global Affairs respectfully, courteously, and professionally.
Preferred Qualification
• Bachelor's degree with three years of relevant experience.
• Ability to utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint when needed.
• Knowledge of university and regional centers.
• Knowledge of university operating systems such as Banner, Iris, Concur, or other institutional administrative systems.
• Familiarity with the university policies and procedures.
