Position Description

Mission: Provide sales with documents that are clear, attractive, and persuasive in support of their selling efforts.


Distinct focus:
As the Sales Copywriter, you will be the bridge between content created by Marketing and the documents needed by salespeople for their deals. While marketing content focuses on creating awareness and consideration for Deque’s products and services, sales content focuses on helping “close the deal.”


Core capability development:
We want to deliver a superior customer experience. We want customers to feel that buying from us was a distinctly better experience. To do that, we need to be able to provide our buyers with documents that are efficient - i.e., speak only to their concerns at the moment, no fluff, no irrelevant boilerplate; that are delivered rapidly after a sales conversation; and that move the deal forward persuasively, through the artful use of language and visual design. To build this capability, reusable documents and presentations will be required, along with a library of reusable sections that can be used to create bespoke documents quickly.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Identify and write content that is frequently required during the competitive and closing stages of sales opportunities
  • Edit emails, RFP responses, and other documents written by salespeople
  • Provide content for sales support technology - e.g., content fragments for an automated quotation system
  • Create templates for frequently used documents and presentations that are consistent with the Deque brand
  • Write one-off documents in support of novel proposals

Requirements

  • A customer-centric mindset and writing habits
  • A writing portfolio that includes short and long-form content.
  • B2B sales copywriting experience, ideally for a software product company
  • Experience with proposal automation systems and content management systems is desired
  • Strong organizational skills evidenced by the ability to manage requests from multiple salespeople
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
