Job Title: Assistant General Manager
Hours per week: Full time
Reports to:General Manager
Sahlen Sports Park seeks a highly motivated, self-starter to manage the day-to-day operations of the sports facility. Responsibilities include all aspects of the facilities including outside sales, field time management, marketing and delivery of programming services.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist in designing age specific leagues and tournaments targeting youth and adult customers, formatting these specifically to age groups and experience levels
- Assist in Scheduling all leagues/tournaments, and outside rentals for field time
- Oversee, Develop and communicate a Calendar for leagues and tournaments
- Review and evaluate sales per program and per field; make program/field adjustments to maximize sales
- Design and administer registration for all programs, leagues, tournaments and camps
- Design and administer procedures to ensure schedules are followed
- Responsible for the communication of all programs, leagues, tournaments and camps
- Responsible for the delivery of all services provided at the facility.
- Create and Manage registration for leagues, programs, tournaments, camps
- Coordinate, direct and lead the daily production of social media content
- Sell sponsorships/signage throughout the facility; identify all advertising opportunities within the facility, generate leads and finalize contracts.
- Update website on a daily basis to keep customers up to date with regard to scores, schedules, news, and any other updates as needed
- Maintain the facility database for marketing, increase and improve database numbers
- Grow customer base; renew returning/annual customers
- Data entry and maintain databases for facility
- Management of all part time staff, which includes interviewing, training, hiring, scheduling, motivating and monitoring progress.
- Improve management's effectiveness by training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining staff; communicates values, strategies, and objectives amongst all levels of staff; assigns accountabilities, and monitors and evaluates results.
- Maintain office machines and equipment
- Manage Facility injury reports
- Ensure the proper use and care of equipment in facility
- Identify safety hazards and reporting of them by staff
- Maintain SOP records for facility
Communication:
- Responsible for the communication of leagues and tournaments to all customers and patrons
- Act as a liaison for tournament participants prior to coming into area by providing a Sahlen Sports Park Visitor guide email.
- Stay in contact with regional youth sport organizations.
- Communicate with respective teams keeping them notified of scheduling as well as any additional programs to enroll in.
- Grow customer base; renew returning/annual customers and continue to develop new relationships within the facility.
- Coordinate with the Director of Marketing an email to go out bi-weekly notifying customers of league and tournament promotions.
- Customer Service: answer phones, assist guests with customer service needs including team/player registration and payment.
Other
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and select holidays.
- Ensure the safety of the building from fire, flood and other hazards.
- Ensure the safety of the customers, discipline when necessary.
- Maintain the efficiency and good working conditions of the facilities.
- Participate in Field setup, preparation and breakdown, including balls, equipment, referees.
- Provide a safe environment for all customers, guests and employees.
- First Response employee; AED, First Aid, CPR
- Assist in all other areas where needed.
Qualifications and Skills
- 4 Year Bachelor's Degree; Sports Management or Business Degree preferred
- 2 years of experience required organizing Sports programming, leagues, and tournaments.
- Highly self-motivated with a desire to be successful.
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
- Positive attitude and great work ethic
- Ability to work well within a team environment.
- Assist in all areas when needed.

Salary**: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00/year with performance-based incentives.
