This position shall serve on a rotating schedule of being on-call to take after hours and weekend safety/security related calls that may require in-field response of an urgent/emergency nature. Physical ability to perform office and related work, including operating computers and office machinery; stamina to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time; strength to lift and maneuver materials weighing up to 25 pounds; vision to read printed materials; and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone. Plans, oversees, and participates in analyses/recommendations in regard to Federal Safety and Security compliance programs, analyzes, investigates, monitors, audits and responds to issues and concerns in this function. Coordinates and oversees agency federal compliance programs associated with Safety and Security program oversight; produces appropriate records and documentation; interprets and explains FTA, Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Transit Security Administration (TSA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and workplace safety. Conducts contractor monitoring and oversight related to contractor compliance with state and federal Safety and Security regulations; produces appropriate records and documentation; interprets and explains FTA, DHS, and TSA regulations, conducts site visits with contractors, and coordinates with contract administrators regarding remediation of contractor deficiencies. Develops and maintains RTC Safety and Security policies and procedures; updates and maintains Safety and Security Plans as needed. Independently manages a variety of special projects/deliverables with short/ targeted completion dates as assigned by department head. Researches, extracts, and compiles data for various reports and other documents. Assists in monitoring budgetary accounts and purchase orders for Safety and security areas. Monitor and maintain video surveillance, access control, panic buttons and software system through warranty and third-party contractors. Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals; recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed. Participates in professional development sessions or seminars; stays current on trends, innovations and legal developments in the Safety/Security field and provides legal updates to staff regarding these areas. Oversees Safety and security responsibilities for areas assigned. Provides information and assistance to internal and external customers as required.
