Summary/Objective:
Under the supervision of the Director of IT, the position of SaaS Administrator/Software Sales Engineer primarily works on the setup and technical support of PASCO’s SaaS platform, the PASCO Portal. This position will provision initial customer accounts and assist with ensuring platform stability and security within the AWS platform. This role must maintain currency with the education software environment (EdTech) and provide analyses and recommendations to management on opportunities to enhance or expand PASCO’s software portfolio in alignment with education’s forward-looking objectives. The individual in this role is expected to follow best practices and align with company goals while creating better procedures and solutions to increase performance and reliability.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Monitor the production environment, ensuring stability for our customers.
- Configure, troubleshoot, monitor, and administer the Portal.
- Engages with customers to provision their initial environment and provide technical support.
- Educate customers in effective usage of the platform.
- Maintain code integrity and organization and ensure proper documentation.
- Ensure adherence to Change Control Management policies and procedures.
- Ensure proper backup and restore mechanisms and procedures are in place for all systems and conform with data archiving best practices.
- Gain knowledge of and maintain best practices in security and data protection.
- Partner with internal IT resources to ensure proper performance and availability of platform.
- Provide after-hours support and maintenance as needed.
- Collaborate with Software Engineering Manager to develop software product roadmaps.
- Provide recommendations on pricing model.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience in an education technology environment.
- Experience with SSO and SAML, ideally in conjunction with ClassLink, Clever, or Google Classroom.
- 2-4 years of experience with SaaS platforms.
Desired experience:
- Experience with AWS cloud products.
- Experience as an IT Coordinator-type role within a medium to large school district.
- Working knowledge of Ubuntu.
- Working knowledge of virtualization technologies.
- API integration fundamentals.
- Ability to create written user documentation that non-technical customers can follow.
- Ability to create Knowledge Base articles.
- Service delivery fundamentals – monitoring, capacity planning, license management
- Solid analytical and logical cognitive skills, with ability to translate highly technical concepts in non-technical terms.

The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, twist and turn body. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 35 pounds, as well as pushing or pulling items with a force of up to 5 pounds.
This position does require the ability to perform under stressful conditions and high-volume demands.
