About Team & About Role

As a User Research Intern, you will be an integral part of our growing team, contributing to our understanding of user needs and behavior to inform the development of our product. The candidate will report directly to the UX Research Manager and have the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams on a regular basis. You will assist in a variety of user research projects, including designing and conducting user research studies, analyzing data, and presenting insights to stakeholders. This will involve conducting user interviews, usability testing, surveys, and other user research methods to gain a deep understanding of our users' needs and preferences. In addition, you will have exposure to user research planning, such as creating research plans and proposals, recruiting participants, and managing project timelines. You will also have the opportunity to work with our product and design teams to translate research insights into actionable recommendations that inform the development of our product.

What You'll Do: 

We're looking for interns who are curious, who want to be entrusted with real responsibility, and who embrace the opportunity to make a meaningful impact. 

  • Assist in planning and conducting qualitative user research studies, including designing research protocols, recruiting participants, and facilitating sessions
  • Conduct data analysis on qualitative research results, and provide actionable insights to cross-functional teams
  • Help create research artifacts such as user personas, journey maps, and research reports
  • Support the design team in generating and testing new design concepts
  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings and contribute to the overall product development process
  • Learn and utilize user research tools and techniques, such as interviews, surveys, and usability testing

Preferred Qualifications & Experience You'll Need

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field
  • Graduating in December 2024 or Spring 2025
  • Available to work full-time for 12-week program 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize and communicate research findings effectively
  • Demonstrated experience with user research methods such as usability testing, surveys, interviews, and persona development
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment
  • Proficiency with research and design tools such as Dovetail, Qualtrics, UserTesting, Sketch, and InVision
  • Comfortable with remote research methodologies and technologies and strong understanding of data analysis techniques and tools
  • Team Player: Be willing to roll up your sleeves and work cross-functionally.
  • You are proactive and not afraid to drive towards finding a better solution.
  • Curious, open-minded and ego-free, with a growth mindset who thrives on continuous learning

The minimum and maximum hourly salaries for this role are $54 - $56/hour. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the role based on U.S. location. Within the range, the salary offered will be determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
