World Relief seeks a Program Officer who will be part to Initial Resettlement Team. The Initial Resettlement team is a dynamic team responsible for overseeing all activities related to the preparation for refugees’ arrival in the United States, and the initial welcoming services provided thereafter. The Program Officer for the Virtual R&P Program will provide leadership and support to World Relief’s Virtual R&P Program across the country. A successful candidate will be collaborative, an excellent listener, technical writer, able to analyze and synthesize data, and able to make recommendations based on analysis.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Assist with the program design and launch, aid with data collection and reporting, and monitor for program compliance.
  • Conduct routine monitoring activities at regular intervals throughout the program period to ensure services are being provided in compliance with program requirements. Any performance concerns identified during these routine monitorings will be brought to the attention of the Virtual R&P Program Director & IR Post-Arrival Manager, and the Program Officer will provide recommendations for corrective action.
  • Liaise between the Virtual R&P team and technical experts on the Post-Arrival team, including MEL, housing, cultural orientation, training.
  • Review reports submitted by the Virtual R&P office, provide feedback where necessary, and within the required timeframe.
  • Collaborate with team members to revise program procedures, tools, and methodologies as required.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in the Virtual R&P program and serve as the primary contact in these areas.
  • Facilitate and/or provide training as necessary, through a variety of communication methods.
  • Participate in internal and external meetings.
  • Assist with additional program requirements, which may include annual grant proposal.
  • Assist with logistics for national level conference.
  • Participate in special projects, as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Expertise in the requirements of the US Refugee Admission Program preferred.
  • Monitoring and quality assurance background preferred.
  • Ability to conduct basic data analysis.
  • Ability to meaningfully contribute in a collaborative environment with team-members and US field staff.
  • Strong inter-personal and written communication skills.
  • Computer experience, including Microsoft products.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Takes initiative; detail orientated; good follow-through; ability to work independently

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree preferred, or other similar degrees or commensurate work experience.
  • Driver’s License.
  • Up to 25% domestic travel
$60,000-65,000

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations

  • Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application information.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • General office setting. World Relief also offers hybrid and remote schedules for limited positions.
  • Great lengths of time working on computer, reading from computer screen, entering information, standing at copier or fax machine, and some time on the phone or in virtual meetings may be required.
  • Year-end archiving activities involve repeated lifting and bending.
