Job Summary
The ROCC Tech Assistant will provide assistance to MR Steering Technologist.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Greets patients with courtesy and respect; introduces self; describes procedures; puts patients at ease.
- Administers oral contrast to patients and provides instructions as needed under direction of technologist.
- Practices universal precautions.
- Keeps patient information confidential.
- Responds to requests and questions efficiently, effectively and in a positive fashion.
- Handles upset or irate individuals professionally and courteously.
- Portrays self-control when under stress; remains professional in all situations.
- Remains aware of appointment delays and changes to schedules and regularly communicates to front desk team.
- Maintains cleanliness of exam room including wiping down bore between patients.
- Burns CDs as indicated.
- Reports any equipment malfunctions to steering tech and Imaging Center Manager.
- Assists in the performance of QC including daily visual checklist and weekly QC.
- Adheres to all OSHA regulations.
- Accurately and correctly positions patients for exams.
- Organizes and carefully applies all coils.
- Assist with completion of all patient screening documents and scans them in appropriately.
- Brings patients back to dressing booths and provides proper gowning directions.
- Assists with screening patients for safe entrance into the MR scan room.
- Assists with lifting and transferring physically challenged patients to and from exam tables
- Removes IV catheters, bandages puncture site.
- Provides any discharge instructions in conjunction with the steering technologist.
- Communicates effectively with the steering technologist.

Requirements:Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of approved MR Technologist Assistant program, including hands-on clinical training.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must be very detail oriented.
- Must be able to assist in lifting patients onto table.

Physical Demands
This position often requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting reaching with hands and arms, using hands and fingers, handling or palpating, speaking, listening, and high level cognition. Also, must be able to lift over 50 pounds, occasionally. Allemployeesare to assist and participate as membersof a lift assistance team (for special accommodation patients or any patient requiring assistance onto a table or equipment placement) to initiate or complete an exam or procedure.
Working Environment
Outpatient medical office setting with low to moderate noise level.
Pay Range
$21.00 - $24.00 / hour
