Job Description
Purpose:
To support Acropolis’ clients, while working in a culturally diverse learning environment. If you like to work within a small, focused, team supported project atmosphere, then this could be the perfect match for you!
Duties:
· Support development in PLC, HMI, and standalone SCADA applications to interface with robotic skids.
· Understanding of palletizing, pick and place and machine tending operations.
· Safety integration and space planning for robotics operations.
· Develop documentation such as functional specifications, design documentation and interface agreements.
· Develop dynamic simulation models that describe system performance and reliability in its application environment.
· Extract useful results from simulation to understand and improve simulation predictability of human and robot kinematic and dynamic responses.
· Build, modify and run simulations using software such as RobotDK, RobotGuide or RobotStudio.
· Support sales and demo applications with principal engineer.
· Assist engineers with design, configuration, and robotic systems applications.
· Assist technicians and engineers with robotic cell start-up and commissioning efforts.
· Utilize and gain an understanding of good software practices, unit testing, verification, and experimental validation to ensure high quality and trustworthy results.
· Conduct research to determine the parameters of a robotic application.
· Perform integration testing under guidance of Senior Technical Leads.
· Identify the proper simulation process and develop new methods, if needed, to achieve predictive physics-based simulations.
· Incorporate existing robotic industry standard analysis methods.
· Document control system and equipment configuration changes.
Qualifications:
· Field technical background.
· Minimum 2+ years’ work experience in industrial environments is a plus.
· Prior military experience is a plus.
Skills and Abilities:
- Platform knowledge (ABB, FANUC, KUKA, Universal, Motoman).
- Ability to differentiate and utilize both system and subsystem analysis techniques to evaluate complex interactions between a human and robot.
- AutoCAD or AutoCAD electrical.
- Solidworks and or AutoCAD inventor.
- Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and presentation skills.
- Ability to work with clients on-site and remotely.
- Able to identify long term needs/goals as well as determine short term objectives to achieve measurable, and verifiable results.
- Comfortable with a hands-on approach to problem solving.
Physical Requirements:
· Requires constant standing and moving 8-12 hours per day.
· Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
· Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and kneel.
· Must be able to push and pull up to 15 lbs.
· Must be able to reach overhead.
