Form of workSUMMARY: Operates Robot Welder to ensure quality welds and proper fit-up of fixtures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Performs set-ups & operate various types of machinery including, but not limited to, Robot Welder, shear, and manual welder for touch up welds.
Ensure quality of product by meeting engineering specifications
Other mechanical assembly as instructed/trained
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
QUALIFICATIONS:
Understanding of mechanical drawings preferred
Must be able to operate 1-3 of the equipment
Ability to operate hand tools required
Basic knowledge of welding process preferred
Ability to perform fit-ups of fixtures and able to ensure a good weld on product
Able to pass math & measurement assessment
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
1 year of manufacturing machinery experience preferred
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must have basic reading and writing skills in the English language
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
Able to convert decimals to fractions and fractions to decimals
Ability to read a tape measure within 1/16”
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Basic data entry skills including how to print documents
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment is an industrial metal fabrication shop with exposure to airborne dust and moving industrial machinery. The noise level in the non-air-conditioned work environment is usually moderate. Steel toe shoes are required.
