ROAD TEST QUALITY CONTROL SPECIALIST


Department: Fleet & Maintenance

Location: Long Beach/Bloomington Shop

Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Position Summary

Ecology Auto Parts Inc. is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of a Road Test Quality Control Specialist. The incumbent will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and safety of our vehicles through rigorous road-testing procedures. This position requires a keen eye for identifying potential issues, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering top-notch quality. The Road Test Quality Control Specialist will collaborate closely with various teams to uphold the highest standards of vehicle performance and customer satisfaction.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough ROAD TESTs on vehicles to evaluate performance, functionality, and safety features.
  • Identify, document, and communicate any issues or abnormalities observed during ROAD TESTs to the Fleet & Maintenance Director and relevant management teams.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to implement corrective actions and improvements based on ROAD TEST findings.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive ROAD TEST procedures and checklists to ensure consistency and accuracy in evaluations.
  • Utilize testing equipment and tools effectively to measure and analyze vehicle performance metrics.
  • Maintain accurate records of ROAD TEST results and findings for reference and analysis purposes.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to discuss ROAD TEST findings, quality improvement initiatives, and project timelines.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to ROAD TESTing and QUALITY CONTROL.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while conducting ROAD TESTs to minimize risks and ensure the well-being of oneself and others.
Requirements:

Qualifications/Knowledge/Critical Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or related field. (Preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive testing, QUALITY CONTROL, or related roles.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle systems, components, and performance metrics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy and precision in testing procedures.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in using testing equipment and software tools for data analysis.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and project requirements.
  • Valid Class A commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • 10 years Class A commercial driving experience.


Physical Demands/Environmental Factors

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
  • Must be able to spend extended periods driving and conducting ROAD TESTs in various weather conditions.
  • Occasionally required to lift and move testing equipment weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required for conducting visual inspections and reading instrumentation.
  • Some travel required


Compensation

The Road Test Quality Control Specialist position offers an appealing compensation package, with a competitive between $25.00 to $30.00 per hour. In addition to the financial component, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401k plan with employer matching, generous paid time off, and life insurance coverage. The final compensation will be contingent upon the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, and skills, reflecting our commitment to providing a rewarding and competitive remuneration to attract top talent in the industry.
