Job Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) Psych, Psych Acute Adult Department is responsible for providing compassionate, evidence-based, and efficient psychiatric care to adult patients within the acute psychiatric setting. This role requires flexibility in scheduling and the ability to quickly adapt to the dynamic needs of patients experiencing acute psychiatric crises.
Requirements:
Valid RN state license
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification
Minimum of 3 years in Psychiatric Nursing within an acute setting
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Assessment & Care:
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, recognizing the severity and type of psychiatric disorders.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor for side effects or adverse reactions.
- Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary team members.
Therapeutic Engagement:
- Engage patients therapeutically, employing techniques specific to the psychiatric setting.
- Promote a safe and therapeutic environment for all patients.
- Utilize de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention skills as required.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions, observations, and care.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure consistent patient care.
- Report any unusual occurrences or changes in patient behavior or status to the appropriate personnel.
Pay: $70.99 per hour
