Please note: This is a contract position that will end at the end of the year, with a possibility of becoming a permanent employee.
SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, performs a variety of duties related to employee benefits programs including insurance, enrollment, eligibility, billing, and record-keeping functions; provides information and assistance to employees regarding health benefits and workers' compensation coverage, claims and related procedures.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS EDUCATION:
- Graduation from high school supplemented by college-level coursework in business administration, human resources, accounting, benefits, insurance, or a closely related field.
- Two years of experience in benefits administration, workers’ compensation, or a closely related area of human resources.

- Assists in the coordination, processing, and resolution of workers' compensation claims; and performs a variety of duties relative to assigned area of responsibility.
- Support, assist and administrate district employees.
- Work with the District's third-party administrators in maintaining accurate working compensation logs and information to required parties.
- Perform a variety of duties related to benefits and insurance programs, including health, dental and vision.
- Assist employees, retirees, and insurance carriers regarding employee benefits.
- Coordinate annual open enrollment.
- Maintain records and inventory of benefit materials and literature for distribution to employees.
- Assist process Workers Compensation claims filed against the District.
- Maintain computerized database of claims, Cobra and retiree payments.
- Monitor and maintain records related to Occupational Safety and health (OSHA 300 logs) and conduct safety trainings.
- Provide materials for all classifications of employees, including activities, retirees, LOA’s, COBRA participants.
- Dispute and receive applications for changes and input changes into the Districts HR or HCM payroll systems and online benefit system.
- Coordinate with the County Office of Education in the preparation and maintenance of the districts HR or HCM benefits.
