As a Risk and Claims Manager, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, assessing, and managing risks within our organization. You will also be responsible for overseeing the claims process and leading negotiations to achieve favorable outcomes. This role is essential in protecting our organization from potential financial losses and ensuring effective claims resolution.
Job Scope
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and evaluate their impact on the organization.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and policies.
- Monitor changes in the regulatory landscape and industry trends that may impact risk exposure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement risk-reduction measures.
Claims Management:
- Oversee the end-to-end claims management process, including the filing of claims and claim investigation.
- Evaluate and validate claims to determine their legitimacy and coverage under existing policies.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather necessary information and evidence for claims assessment.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all claims and related documentation.
Negotiation and Settlement:
- Lead negotiations with claimants, and other relevant parties to reach fair and equitable settlements.
- Develop and maintain negotiation strategies to maximize claim recoveries and minimize financial loss.
- Ensure timely and effective communication with all parties involved in the negotiation process.
- Draft settlement agreements and other related documentation.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare regular reports on claims activity, risk exposure, and negotiation outcomes.
- Conduct data analysis to identify trends and patterns in claims and risk management.
- Provide recommendations for process improvements and risk reduction based on data-driven insights.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations pertaining to risk management and Claims handling.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of all claims, negotiations, and risk assessment activities.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the risk management team, legal team and other relevant teams to achieve successful outcomes.
- Provide guidance and support to team members involved in the claims and negotiation processes.
What you Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees and relevant certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience in risk management and Claims handling, including negotiation and settlement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- PMP Preferred
- Knowledge of insurance policies, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in using risk management software and tools.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
- Ethical and committed to maintaining confidentiality.
