Risk Analyst

Position: Risk Analyst - Full time position

Cogent Security Consulting LLC seeks a Risk Analyst to work as part of a cross-functional team responsible for systematically evaluating security threats, vulnerabilities, performance, and cost-risk trades.

Detailed duties and responsibilities will include:

● Supporting multiple analytical projects annually

● Helping to develop project plans and coordinate project execution with stakeholders

● Assessing client policies, operations, hazards, and performance

● Preparing briefings and reports

● Identifying and implementing new analytical capabilities

Requirements:

● Bachelor’s degree in natural sciences, mathematics, engineering, quantitative social sciences, or related discipline

● Minimum of 3 years professional experience

● Experience conducting risk assessments for high consequence operations

● Effective writing and presentation capabilities

● Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, time-management, and interpersonal skills

● U.S. citizen with ability to obtain DOE security clearance

Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities:

● Familiarity with Department of Energy (DOE) safeguards and security or similar Department of Defense programs

● Experience with modeling and simulation tools (e.g., force-on-force, blast effects, dispersion)

● Experience conducting authorization basis, safety, all-hazards, or sabotage analyses

Position Location: Alexandria VA; open to remote work for the right candidate and location

Travel Required: Up to 25% travel required; remote candidate may be required to travel 50% or more

Salary Range: $80-130K

Pay: $80,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
