Koniag IT Systems, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Security Risk Analyst with a Public Trust clearance to support KITS and our government customer. This is a Remote opportunity.

KGS has an immediate need for a Security Risk Analyst with the ability to support the requirements within an IT enterprise solution at our client, USDA. We’re seeking an experienced Risk Analyst who can build upon this good reputation with an unwavering commitment to meticulous production. The ideal candidate is an exceptionally organized, methodical professional who has the experience necessary to take our products to the next level in accuracy, security, and safety. The candidate should be highly skilled with the Microsoft suite and other industry leading analysis tools.
This role receives assignments and reports directly to the Lead supporting USDA. The position is integral to our success at USDA and providing our client with the most organized and professional team members to meet their expectations.
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Support the reviews of cybersecurity processes, risk analysis and A&A for quality and conformance to specifications and deliverables.
  • Analyze and investigate reports of quality issues and ensure resolution in accordance with customer guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, write, review and update and document the information types for all assigned systems in accordance with NIST, USDA, USDA-CEC, and industry standards.
  • Responsible for providing expertise to develop, plan, report and manage deliverable requirements gathering and analysis activities.
  • Ability to gather information through process mapping, flow-charting, and workshops. This information can then be used to develop better process engineering.
  • Responsible for meeting with clients and carrying out workshops to help them document any valuable information and to determine the business goals that USDA desires to achieve and work towards.
  • Improve or automate business and workflow processes using analytical software to document procedures and map processes.
  • Responsible for producing management level summaries; visually descriptive and complex process maps as well as written deliverables and verbiage in common contracting terms from translated requirements.
  • Exhibit a refined understanding of continuous improvement concepts and principles.
  • Analyze organizational survey processes incorporating best practices and recommending project for process improvements.
  • Manage, document, and implement approved projects for organizational survey process changes.
Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Understanding of NIST Publications on Security Controls, Risk Analysis, and the Risk Management Framework (800-53 rev 5)
  • Deep knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods, and tools
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in best practices for testing, version control, and defect management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, cybersecurity, business, or other relevant fields.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience directly supporting a large corporation/agency or military branch in an IT business analyst/process capacity.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in process mapping and requirements analysis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication with internal and external customers to produce presentations and reports on the findings.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proficient in utilizing analytical programs as well as spreadsheet software and flow-charting tools.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting abilities to think creatively to solve customer challenges, problems, etc.
  • Strong critical thinking ability.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • Exceptional writing capabilities.
  • Current ITIL certification.
  • Experience within SharePoint, ability to update content and workflows.
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a favorable government background investigation (BI).
Working Environment & Conditions
This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.
The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
