Rhel System Administrator - Cloud | Cleared - Remote

**This position is hybrid remote with 1-2 days per week on site in either Warrenton, VA, Fairfax, VA or Washington, DC

JOB SUMMARY:

The RHEL System Administrator will help contribute to an integrated team environment with other systems, software and specialty engineers to develop solutions that includes a background in all aspects of the systems administration in a cloud environment. You will be part of a talented team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security.

Responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems; especially multi-user computer systems in a cloud environment.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Install Linux and Windows servers in a virtualized environment, troubleshoot hardware/software installation and basic networking issues
• Setting up and managing Linux and Windows systems, applications and environments and ensuring those systems comply with government security standards
• Troubleshooting network hardware and software applications, OS upgrades, and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services
• Maintains a “customer focus” attitude to ensure customer satisfaction
• Providing clear, concise, and timely communication with customers, supervisors, and project managers
• Work within a team environment and attend meetings with other team members, customers, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience troubleshooting complex systems involving multiple servers, COTS products, NetApp, VMs, VDIs, and/or network issues
• Experience with Network engineering technologies and as a network administrator
• Ability to troubleshoot complex configuration problems or system issues
• Knowledge of scripting skills (i.e. PowerShell, Python, Ruby, bash, etc.)
• General working experience with firewalls (Cisco ASA) and creating ACLs
• Working experience troubleshooting cloud platforms – multi-tenant a plus
• Familiar with scanning software ie. Tanium
• Familiar with STIGs and compliance
• Manage virtual machines and virtual infrastructure
• Experience with monitoring and optimizing performance of virtualized environments
• Experience in systems-of-systems definition, development, and integration
• Ability to analyze high level needs

Specialized skills required for this position:

• RHEL (Provisioning, Maintaining/Patching, Hardening)
• VMware admin experience (including vCenter)
• Experience using Linux based automation tools (Chef, Ansible)
• Experience with AWS – specifically EC2 and S3 services
• Docker, Virtualization, Kubernetes, Containerization experience
• Experience with use cases, performance specification development and UML modeling preferred
• Linux System administrator

Other skills:

• Infrastructure Components (e.g. Symantec Endpoint Protection, WSUS, RHEL Satellite, VMWare Update Mgr, SolarWinds)
• VMware Certified Professional, Data Center Virtualization 6 (VCP6-DCV) Certification

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 5+ years of related work experience

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Active DOD TS/SCI - Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI Eligibility
