Atlanta Micro, Inc was founded in 2011 with the purpose of designing and manufacturing high performance RF and Microwave products for demanding customer applications. The company is based in Peachtree Corners, Georgia, just north of Atlanta, with an additional facility near Baltimore, Maryland.
Atlanta Micro designs stateoftheart components, receivers, transceivers and systems for the military, government agencies, as well as commercial markets. Atlanta Micro is focused on providing bestinclass broadband RF solutions meeting stringent specifications while offering reduced size, weight and power consumption necessary for portable and low power platforms.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and testing RF components and integrated assemblies that operate from 20 MHz through 20 GHz. The ideal candidate will independently complete small design projects from prototype through production.
Worksite location options:
- Onsite: Peachtree Corners, GA or Marriottsville, MD (9/80 schedule)
- Hybrid: 2-3 days onsite and WFH the remainder of the week (based on business needs)
- Remote: 100% WFH is not authorized for this role based on company needs and culture
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Design RF hardware solutions using Atlanta Micro MMIC components
- Uses CAD tools to design printed circuit boards and packaging for evals and modules
- Uses RF simulation tools (such as ADS or AWR) to model RF performance
- Conducts manual and automated performance tests to characterize RF semiconductor components
- Develops understanding of operation, construction, and behavior of RF MMIC components
- Work with customers to synthesize requirements, assist with proposal writing, and project planning
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering. Masters degree preferred
- 2+ years of work experience with component-level RF hardware design
- Ability to use test equipment including vector network analyzers, RF signal generators, spectrum analyzers in applications up to 20 GHz
- Ability to independently setup and run basic RF measurements such as Noise Figure, Intercept point, tuning speed, etc.
Qualifications
- Good knowledge of RF circuit fundamentals and design techniques
- Ability to plan, and execute development projects as the technical lead
- Ability to instruct and guide technicians and assemblers in implementing RF assemblies
- Familiar with automated test software applications such as LabView and Python
- US Citizen (due to DoD clearance eligibility)
