This commercial metal structures company has been a leading provider of metal structures for the self-storage industry for over 20 years. Company growth and expansion have created a need for a Revit 3-D Designer to join our team.

Position Summary

The Revit 3D Designer will work closely with the engineering department and Senior Designers on our team to design and draft full-scale architectural plans utilizing rough drawings and specifications from our clients. The Designer will work closely with the Project Management team to produce change orders as required by the engineer, project manager or client. The Designer will perform Calculations to check for accuracy. The Designer is required to communicate effectively with Sales, Project Management, Design, Engineering and our customers as well as providing excellent customer service to our investors.

Essential Functions

• The drafter plays a central role in providing information to contractors and construction crews throughout the planning and building processes.
• Communicate with trade partners and team members regarding new and current projects
• Update designs as necessary. While updating the design the drafter will make sure that the change in design does not have unforeseen effect on other construction elements.
• Minimize project risks using appropriate procedures and tools
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and records
• Establish and maintain working relationships with sales team, engineering team and project management team
• Ability to focus in a high energy fast paced environment is required
• Attention to detail, check and cross check excel spreadsheets
• CAD and Revit experience

Job Skills and Competencies

· Knowledge of CAD and Revit

· Working knowledge of construction plans utilizing Autocad, Revit

· Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent communication and presentation skills; demonstrated comfort interacting with executive-level management.

· High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.

· Strong attention to detail accuracy and accomplishes job tasks in a timely manner.

· Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance.

• Comfort dealing with ambiguity and the ability to work independently in a changing fast paced environment.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree required or experience in lieu of education
• Revit Training
• CAD Training

Work Experience

· 2+ years relevant experience in detailing required

Environmental Requirements

• Regularly, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during shifts
• Ability to work in excess of 40 hours per week
• Ability to occasionally work a flexible schedule
