ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Colorado Regional Manager of Revenue Cycle Management oversees and manages the daily functions of the Regional RCM team and is an effective liaison between our operations team and our Revenue Cycle outsourced vendor. This role will oversee the full Revenue Cycle for its region including coding to CPC standards, documentation requirements and company standards. This will be achieved by, but is not limited to the following:
- Serve as the regional point of contact for RCM vendor, and partner with the RCM vendor to ensure accuracy in billing and collections operations.
- Manage the regional RCM team (RCM call center, AR Specialists, and RCM Vendor performance); inclusive of hiring, training, providing regular feedback, performance reviews, one on one meetings, and ongoing development.
- Monitor and track regional RCM performance and present monthly performance results to CFO.
- Identify potential problems and opportunities for RCM process improvement.
- Maintain written procedures for workflow by writing or updating procedures as needed.
- Partner with CFO and internal diligence/integration team to provide support for integration of new practice acquisitions, directing the activities of the Integration Specialist.
- Serves as an escalation point for regional RCM team for denials and rejections, and facilitate communication with clinical staff, providers, and RCM vendor.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on all procedures in the region.
- Responsible for working with Accounting to get refunds issued for patients.
- Oversee monthly close process, including reporting and account reconciliation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES)
- CPC Certification required.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Medical Billing/AR. Ophthalmology experience preferred.
- Previous experience with healthcare practice acquisitions and subsequent integrations preferred.
- Previous management experience in a related field.
- Knowledge of entire Revenue Cycle Process, starting with date of service to zero balance or patient and insurance refund.
- Knowledge of medical billing/collection practice in Colorado preferred.
- Knowledge of basic medical coding and third-party operating procedures and practices.
- NextGen software experience a plus. Multiple system knowledge also a plus.
- Strong knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding.
