Metro Services is looking to immediately fill a Retail Store Manager position for a Retail Company in Chattanooga, TN. The Retail Store Manager is responsible for store operation, personnel management, financial performance, support of Workforce Development activities, and safety & loss control activities of the store. Duties for this position include:
- Maintain agency, employee, and participant's confidentiality (Violation of confidentiality may be cause for termination)
- Effectively manage collections to ensure proper processing and separation of incoming donations
- Ensure the store maximizes used goods processing through the proper application of Production Standards: sorting, preparing, and pricing items for sale
- Ensure production goals are met or exceeded consistently
- Ensure maximum sales performance through proper stock rotation, display, signage, and inventory levels
- Ensure the store meets or exceeds goals consistently
- Ensure the store is presenting quality customer service in a timely and courteous manner to all shoppers, donors, and employees
- Maintain a clean and orderly production environment
- Ensure machinery and/or devices are in proper working order
- Responsible for compliance of workers with established organizational and departmental policies, procedures, and standards
- Maintain floor appearance, cleanliness, and shopping environment including but not limited to floor care, fitting rooms, cash register and customer service areas, aisles, trash cans, lights, restrooms, glass cases, window ledges, and doors
- Ensure that doors, odor control, POS equipment, fire extinguishers, and restrooms are in proper working order
- Maintain the appearance of the building exterior and parking lot, including but not limited to windows, doors, sidewalks, parking lot lights, dumpster area, landscape, shopping cart retrieval, store entry, and signage
- Submit maintenance work orders when appropriate
- Ensure subordinate supervisors are given the tools necessary to meet expectations for which they are held accountable
- Develop and maintain smooth, cooperative working relationships and communications with peers and subordinates while demonstrating an awareness of and consideration for the opinions and feelings of others
- Aggressively seek successful results ensuring the completion of assignments
- Ensure effective and efficient store budget management including maintaining positive control, achieving processing goals, generating revenue, and controlling expenses
- Keep surrounding premises clean and free of safety hazards
- Ensure that safety procedures are understood and followed by all store employees
- Ensure loss prevention matters are reported, investigated, and corrected promptly
- Ensure proper operation in all areas of store security and safety systems including but not limited to door locks, alarms, office door, bank deposits, refunds, safe, incident reports, and fire extinguishers
- Ensure proper handling of cash and all forms of media through enforcement of POS procedures and accurate and timely submission of proper reports
- Ensure subordinate management and employees are being developed to the highest standards possible
- Ensure that an efficient and effective workforce is maintained through proper hiring, training, and direction and that workforce morale is maintained
- Ensure that employee appraisals are conducted according to established standards
- Ensure all employee status change actions are processed accurately and promptly
- Ensure store reports, personnel status changes, and client program information are communicated accurately and promptly
- Comply with all policies, standards, and safety and security procedures
- Ensure all employees properly adhere to policies and procedures
- Ensure utilization of remedial action recommended by Human Resources (HR) and District Manager to effectively maintain discipline
- Available to work a flexible work schedule consisting of a minimum of two evenings (store closing) shifts a week and two weekends (Saturday and Sunday) a month
- Attend mandatory management and training meetings and conducts store meetings monthly
- Properly wear and maintain all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Comply with all health, safety, and fire standards and all local state and federal regulations (OSHA)
Compensation (USD):
$16.00 - $16.50/hour
Schedule:
Rotating Days
9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Must arrive 30 minutes early to open and stay after to close
Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:
- High School Diploma required
- Must pass Drug Screen
- Must pass Background
- 4-5 years related production/retail management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Knowledge of POS system, SharePoint, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) computer programs
- GIGCA’s POS certification for Sales Associate II (Training provided)
- Key holder certification (Training provided)
- Forklift certification on all lifts (Training provided), if applicable
- Current Drivers License, proof of personal auto insurance, clean driving record
