Required Skills:

• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of Vermont (prior to start date).
• Graduate of an AMA approved program for Respiratory Care.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist by the NBRC within one year of hire date.
• Current ACLS, BLS & PALS certifications.

Job Description:

• Provide professional respiratory care to patients in varying states of health and illness.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the plan of care.
• Provide and oversee the delivery of patient care for adult ICU populations and all patients requiring respiratory care in the general units, including adult, pediatric, and cystic fibrosis patients.
• Respond quickly to emergent situations and be able to endure repetitive physical movement.
• Remain standing for the majority of the shift and serve patients over a wide variety of areas.
• May be expected to take Charge and/or work in the ED upon successful completion of Charge and ED proficiencies.
• Maintain proficiencies as defined by department expectations in both adult ICUs and all general units.

• Excellent Communication Skills: Effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members is crucial. The ability to explain treatment plans and procedures in a clear and compassionate manner is highly valued.
• Critical Thinking: Strong critical thinking skills are essential to assess patients' conditions, make quick decisions during emergencies, and adjust treatment plans accordingly.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

Experience:

• Respiratory therapy: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• ACLS Certification (Required)
• BLS Certification (Required)
• PALS Certification (Required)
