Norton Healthcare Respiratory Therapy Student & Apprentice Positions

Norton Healthcare Licensed Student Positions and Apprentice program is designed to provide a pathway for students to obtain shadowing and additional hands on experience while earning their degree.

Respiratory Care Practitioner Apprentice Program Highlights:

• The Respiratory Care Practitioner Apprentice will be employed by Norton Healthcare and partake in a shadowing opportunity that will include, training and learning in all areas of Respiratory Care.
• This experience will allow our apprentices to rotate through all 5 of our Norton Healthcare Hospital locations.
• The apprentices will also have the opportunity to explore various service lines for alignment with clinical immersion as part the Licensed Student Respiratory Care Practitioner opportunities available upon eligibility of obtaining student licensure.

Licensed Student Respiratory Care Practitioner Positions:

• Students will be employed by Norton Healthcare as PRN (as needed) or part-time employees
• Students will work semi autonomously within the scope allowed by their Student Respiratory Therapist Licensure issued by the Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care.
• Students will focus primarily on respiratory therapy skills and functions, time management and have patient exposure.
• The Licensed Student position and training will continue until students complete their educational program at which time they will be eligible to transition to a full time Respiratory Care Practitioner position within Norton Healthcare.
