Resort Maintenance Engineer (Full-Time, Year-Round)

Wychmere Beach Club is seeking an engineering professional that is dedicated and passionate about delivering excellent service. The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for performing general maintenance and preventative maintenance duties, and will already possess such knowledge regarding general repairs and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in a similar role, the ability to work independently and be a self-starter, and have a flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends as holidays as needed. This is a full-time, year round position reporting to the Director of Engineering.

The Engineer will perform various maintenance functions including but not limited to: preventative maintenance, HVAC repairs, lock repairs, window/door repairs, electrical repairs, appliance repairs, light carpentry and changing light bulbs, filters, batteries, etc.

The Engineer’s work will primarily occur at the main Club property, including in guest rooms and suites, function spaces, kitchens, restaurants, beach and pools, tennis center, both on-site and off-site employee housing, office spaces and in all public areas.

Schedule:

· 8 Hour Days

· Weekend availability is required

· Holidays

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

· Previous hotel, resort or club property maintenance experience preferred

· Should have general working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and carpentry concepts

· Require availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays

· Excellent organizational and time management skills

· Strong communication skills

· Highly responsible and reliable

· Must be able to routinely lift up to 40+ pounds

· Must be able to stand for long periods of time

· Must be able to climb stairs and ladders

Core Duties:

This is intended to represent the key duties for this position. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Performing general maintenance and repairs in the guest rooms and suites, venue spaces, kitchens, restaurants and public areas

· Responsible for preventative maintenance for all building structures on the entire property and related nearby properties (inclusive of the Tennis Center and off-site employee housing)

· Responsible for general maintenance and repairs on all minor mechanical issues involving: HVAC, electrical, plumbing etc.

· Perform regularly scheduled safety inspections, including, but not limited to, fire safety devices, elevator, emergency evacuation policies of the property to maintain compliance with all town codes and insurance guidelines

· Responsible for executing walk through lists and updating the Director of Engineering daily and / or weekly on progress along with any concerns

· Responsible for assisting with snow removal during the off-season, as needed

· Exemplify a solid work ethic and promote a team environment

· Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Director of Engineering.

Compensation: Hourly Rate determined upon skills and experience level
