Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Engineer
Location: Fall River, Massachusetts
Classification: Full-time
Job Duties:
I. Oversee unique planner implementation for planned preventive maintenance & instrument calibrations to enable effective maintenance and adherence to standards
Select machine group of respective Unit/Block as per schedule and distribute uniformly.
Oversee PPM / calibration planner preparation.
Ensure whether good engineering practices are followed during planned preventive activity, and at other times, uniformly across site by inspecting, creating systems and having procedures and policies in place.
II. Optimize breakdown maintenance to avoid recurrence and maintain continuous process operations by reviewing critical parts availability and PPM adherence to schedule
Ensure critical spares of critical machines are maintained to reduce resolution time by predicting demand and reviewing availability.
Strategize to minimize impact of breakdown on quality and production by reducing service time, learning from other sites and planning preventive maintenance and root cause analysis.
III. Supervise Engineering Operations like Utilities and Systems to ensure continuous utility maintenance and availability
Oversee the Facility Management to ensure the site is maintained in optimum conditions
Check Engineering Stores to ensure critical spares are available and cost optimization
Oversee Engineering Scrap Management and disposal.
IV. Identify new vendors and technologies and ensure capability building of engineering team through training and experiential learning to improve machine performance
Monitor adherence to unit training plans to ensure training needs of the engineering team across the site are met.
Analyze training requirements of team and arrange internal and external training/ seminars to meet these needs for staying updated with contemporary techniques used in maintenance.
V. Prepare, monitor and control Capex and OpEx across site to reduce costs Review cost heads
with Engineering Heads / Unit heads and users to take corrective actions for keeping cost heads under control.
Optimize operating cost by implementation of systems for monitoring control and awareness in utilities and processes.
Ensure better costing during brown field projects' execution by leading negotiations with vendors and giving inputs on alternate equipment
VI. Create and monitor safety standards along with HSE to achieve high level of Safety at site to minimize reportable accidents/ incidences
Ensure GEP and all safety interlocks of machines and facilities are checked as per SOP through random checks and periodic reviews for safer operations.
Review all safety meeting agendas and outcomes to ensure implementation of actions planned during departmental safety meeting
VII. Oversee implementation of automation and resource conservation projects (electrical, thermal, energy saving & water saving) by evaluating its returns, scope and implementation feasibility to reduce cost and make the plant energy sustainable
Seek out and implement automation initiatives in the site to enhance efficiency.
Plan and monitor internal and external energy audits across plants.
Guide energy saving projects with respect to renewable energy and green fuel systems.
Coordinate, evaluate and seek approval of Energy conservation and Resource conservation projects from different level for the site.
VIII. Drive / Support Unit Team for execution of Brownfield and Greenfield projects by reviewing schedule, budgets and timelines to ensure smooth project execution
Review of brownfield project schedule and Capex budget at inception stage.
Monitoring Timelines/ vendor /quality of execution during project planning and execution
Monitoring of Capex to ensure completion as per budget by guiding project negotiations for equipment and machinery.
Requirements:
Engineering graduate 5 to 7 years of experience in manufacturing (Maintenance and Projects). At least 3 years in senior management role
Good technical knowledge of Pharma / API machinery and utility requirements
Good knowledge and experience in execution of green field projects
Knowledge of GMP and various regulatory requirements
Strong leadership skills and experience in industrial automation Ability and willingness to learn.
