Monarch NC, a provider of high-quality and trauma-informed care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness and substance use disorders, is seeking dedicated Developmental Specialists to join our Angier, NC team.
Immediate opening -- start working as soon as April 8th with a completed background check!
As a Developmental Specialist, you will be primarily responsible for supporting people to achieve their personal dreams and goals. Staff is on 1:3 ratio (1 staff to 3 people we support). There are at least two staff members scheduled on every shift. The people we support all sleep through the night at this location, and may be non-verbal. The Overnight Shift is expected to stay awake the entire shift, and must check on the people we support every 15 minutes and document accordingly.
We have 2 openings at this location - both are Sleepover positions. Here are their work schedules:
- SCHEDULE 1: Every other weekend, Friday, 5 PM through Sunday, 5 PM
- SCHEDULE 2: Friday, 5 PM - 10 PM, Saturday, 6 AM - 10 PM, and Sunday, 6 AM - 5 PM
Responsibilities include:
- Administer morning medication
- Handfeed meals
- Transportation to appointments
- Cook meals
- Assist with showers and personal care
- Daily charting and documentation
- Cleaning and general upkeep of the site
- Light cleaning on certain shifts
- Deep cleaning on certain shifts
- Overnight Shift is expected to stay awake the entire shift, and must check on people we support every 15 minutes and document accordingly
To qualify, candidates must have the following:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- At least 1 year of experience working with people with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, mental health issues or substance abuse issues.
- A valid Drivers License and auto insurance is also required.
