The full-time employee will be an integral part of the Analytical Discovery Chemistry team and support our internal small molecule drug discovery and development programs. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of liquid chromatography and detection techniques such as UV/Vis, Mass Spectrometry (MS), Charged Aerosol Detection (CAD). He/She will be responsible for developing and implementing methods for data collection and determining physicochemical properties (solubility, stability, forced degradation, PKa, LogD) of small molecule drugs using various analytical instruments such as Agilent LC/UV/MS, ThermoFisher Scientific TSQ Quantis Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer (MS/CAD), and Pion Sirius-T3 instruments.  

What you'll do:

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical HPLC (UV, MS, CAD) instruments.
• Adapt, implement, and develop new Physicochemical assays to study solubility and stability of compounds of interest in various buffers and conditions.
• Sample preparation, data acquisition, and analysis.
• Collaborate and mentor Junior scientists.
• Enhance productivity and efficiency through workflow improvements and automation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Ph.D (preferred), or M.S., or B.S in chemistry with directly related experience (0-2 years post Ph.D., 5-8 years post M.S., 7-12 years post B.S.).
• Knowledge of different analytical technologies including HPLC, LCMS, LC/CAD, SFC, and NMR.
• A deep understanding of HPLC, MS/MS, and CAD is required.
• Working knowledge with SFC and NMR is a plus.
• Specific knowledge and experience with Agilent and Thermo LCMS systems including software packages Chemstation and MassHunter, and Excalibur.
• Experience in Liquid Handler automation is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.

$136,463 - $178,460 a year

The salary range is an estimate and may vary based on the Company's compensation practices.
