The Research Scientist will work as part of a team of scientists at the Drug Discovery Lab of UVA’s Comprehensive Cancer Center. The candidate will be responsible for the synthesis of small molecules and evaluation of pre-ADME properties, including compound solubility, protein binding, plasma stability and metabolism.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: A Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or a related discipline is required by the appointment start date. Industrial experience in drug discovery following the PhD is highly desirable, but not required. The candidate must have effective oral and written communication skills. Required skills include, experienced in organic synthesis, spectroscopic characterization of small molecules, mass spectrometry and assay development.
