Research & Evaluation Intern (Spanish-Speaking)

Salary: $18-22 Hourly

Project Bread connects people and communities in Massachusetts to reliable sources of food while advocating for policies that make food more accessible – so that no one goes hungry. To assist us in meeting our mission, Project Bread – The Walk for Hunger is seeking a Spanish-Speaking Research and Evaluation Intern (R&E Intern) to support with data collection, which will include collecting survey data, transcriptions, and assisting with focus groups and interviews.

Supervisor: Project Manager of Research and Evaluation 

 

The Role: As a member of the Research and Evaluation team, the R&E Intern will support research and evaluation activities for the team and organization. Activities will include primary source data collection for various research studies, secondary source data collection for factsheets, and literature reviews. The R&E Intern may also support data analysis for various research studies and a guided research project.  

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Primary source data collection 
• Secondary source data collection  
• Literature reviews 
• Support the Research and Evaluation team with data and evaluation activities 
• Work within a team and attend or convene meetings as assigned 
• Other activities, as assigned 

 

Qualifications: 

• Enrolled in a graduate degree program. 

• Excellent written and oral communication skills. 
• Fluency (reading, writing, and speaking) in Spanish. Fluency in one or more of the following languages is also highly desirable: Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese, or Cape Verdean Creole.  
• Willingness to learn. 
• Commitment to social justice. 

 

Time/compensation: Interns are expected to work 10-20 hours a week and will be compensated $18 - $22 an hour.  

 

Duration: The internship is expected to commence in June 2024 and continue through August or September 2024 (depending on R&E Intern availability). Pending performance review, the internship duration may be extended. 

 

Location: All employees are currently working a hybrid remote and in-office model and are expected to spend at least one day in office per week. The R&E Intern will need to be present in the East Boston office at least once per week.
