Job Summary: The Research Assistant independently performs a number of duties to assist in the enrollment of patients in research protocols. Duties include obtaining informed consent from parents and collection and preservation of biological specimens from several inter-related studies in Labor & Delivery and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The Assistant will also assist with laboratory procedures for analyzing biological specimens. The Assistant will have the opportunity to work with high-level investigators and to be part of academic projects arising form this work.
Specifications: Bachelors Degree preferred. Must be comfortable handling biological specimens including blood. Experience with laboratory activities preferred. Maturity and ability to work in a multidisciplinary, fast-paced setting as well as manual dexterity are required. Flexible hours including nights and weekends are required.
