Job description

We are seeking a Pediatric Behavioral HealthClinical Research Assistantto join us at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI. The Pediatric Health Disparities Research Program at Rhode Island Hospital/Brown Medical School seeks a full-time Clinical Research Assistant for Pediatric Behavioral Health research studies. These innovative projects utilize multi-method, in-depth approaches to characterize asthma, sleep patterns and immune functions of urban children and youth. Spanish Fluency required.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect data in the form of questionnaires, interviews, focus groups, specialized electronic monitoring devices and biological samples
  • Assisting with coordination of each aspect of the project, including administrative tasks and communication with all research team members, school personnel and other community members.
  • Coordinating meetings, taking meeting minutes, documenting of study decisions
  • Assistance with tracking and reporting study milestones
  • Lab organization
  • Data organization and data entry
  • Assisting with preparing conference presentations, manuscripts, and grant proposals

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s in psychology, public health or a related field
  • Bilingual in spoken and written English and Spanish
  • Ability to commit to the position for a minimum of 2 years
  • Experience with research concepts and techniques, including qualitative interviewing and quantitative analysis
  • Transportation required for driving to offsite facilities (mileage reimbursement provided)
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends
  • A talent for multi-tasking and an aptitude for thinking on numerous levels simultaneously
