Clinical Research Assistant

Job Description:

The Petzschner lab in the Carney Institute for Brain Science has developed a smartphone app (SOMA) to track pain symptoms in patient populations. The Clinical Research Assistant will support the execution of several large-scale research studies (online and local) that involve chronic pain patients and the use of the SOMA app as well as EEG recordings.

This is a fixed term position with a current end date of 12/31/2025 which may be extended based upon available funding.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring of large research study with Chronic Pain patients
• Recruitment for research studies and clinical trials
• Administrative coordination

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Neuroscience, Psychology or relevant field and 1-2 research years experience required (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Clinical trial experience preferred
• Experience performing EEG or ECG tests preferred
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent interpersonal skills are required for working with the study participants
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Analytical skills and the ability to resolve technical or research problems and issues and to interpret the acceptability of data results
• High degree of computer literacy
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize a variety of tasks
• Careful attention to detail
• Ability to demonstrate professionalism and respect for subject’s rights and individual needs
• Knowledge of data management programs
• Willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive campus community
