INTERNSHIP SUPERVISOR: Senior Advisor, Social Behavioral Science Research
LOCATION: Washington, DC
ASSIGNMENT LENGTH: 6 months
INTERNSHIP SUMMARY: The Population Council's Social and Behavioral Science Research division seeks a part-time intern (15-19 hours/week) to provide administrative and research support to the study Adapting and piloting a group intervention to address intersectional stigmas, and support shared resiliency and HIV wellness, among Black sexual minority men in Washington DC ( funded through the DC-Center for AIDS Research via NIH). The intern will be responsible for tracking of study activities, providing research support, and quality assurance of research and intervention activities, working closely with investigators / staff from the Population Council as well as community-based organization partners (e.g., Us Helping Us).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Support study coordination activities, including tracking of study activities and deliverables and helping organize study team meetings
2. Support preparation of study materials, including the intervention curriculum, qualitative interview/focus group discussion guides, and surveys
3. Support communication with study participants (approx. 150 total)
4. Organize qualitative data, and support qualitative data analysis
QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelors degree and at least 1-3 years of experience; student in masters/PhD program in public health or related field preferred
2. Demonstrated project/study management skills
3. Good interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team
4. Availability to attend study-related activities at community sites in the Washington, DC area, including Northwest DC and Prince George's County, MD.
5. Experience with HIV prevention/care topical area, and working with sexual and gender minority populations, preferred
6. Experience with qualitative data analysis preferred
Hourly rate between $18 - 25 per hour, depending on knowledge, skills, and experience.
