```Job Overview```
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant (fluent in English and Mandarin) to join our team. As a Research Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our research efforts and contributing to the advancement of scientific knowledge. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
This project will recruit up to 5,970 participants aged 60 years or older, of Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese ancestry. Eight performing sites across US and Canada will participate in the recruitment of cases of dementia and controls without cognitive impairment in collaboration with community partners, clinics, and nursing homes that serve Asian communities. We will collect saliva for DNA and use instruments appropriately adapted and validated for each ethnic group, uniform data forms, and standardized clinical/diagnostic protocols across sites.
```Responsibilities```
- Under the direction of the Project Director, the candidate will help coordinate the recruitment of participants, mainly Chinese Americans from LA, administer surveys by phone and maintain a master log of all recruitment activities.
Major Job functions include:
(1) Assist project director with the day-to-day recruitment activities;
(2) Call participants, administer surveys in English or Mandarin and help with study enrollment;
(3) Enter data in REDCap
(4) Coordinate and work closely with study clinicians;
(5) Assist with the planning, organizing, and scheduling of activities;
(6) Serve as a liaison between SCEI and USC team;
( 7) Generate summary reports of ongoing recruitment;
```Requirements/ Qualifications```
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., public health, biology, biochemistry, or related discipline)
-(Master’s degree preferred: public health, epidemiology or related field preferred;
- Familiarity with FDA regulations and guidelines for research studies
- Experience working in research
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations for handling patient data is preferred
- Experience with data collection and research methods
-Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Bilingual is required (English/Chinese)
