The Eau Claire Leader-Telegram is looking for a new Community Safety Reporter.
We’re looking for someone who wants to help reimagine the standard “cops and courts” beat, developing it into a specialty that delves into stories within the community. You’ll cover court cases, but will also have wide latitude to explore potential stories within the region’s law enforcement communities and pursue developments in the justice system.
The ideal reporter has a couple years’ experience in newspaper, but we’ll train a talented newcomer if you’re the right person. The L-T newsroom is close-knit. We work together and work hard, but also want to ensure our staff has the opportunity to balance office responsibilities with life outside of work.
Eau Claire is the hub of the Chippewa Valley, a gorgeous area in northwestern Wisconsin. There’s easy access to the outdoors and a thriving arts scene. We’re just a couple hours away from the Great Lakes and 90 minutes from the Twin Cities.
