Position Overview:
Postability is a software development firm focused on the development of NC Post Processors for Mastercam CAD/CAM systems, which are used in the programming of computer-controlled machine tools.
Postability is seeking a self-motivated CAD/CAM Post Process Developer obsessed with delivering value, who is forward-thinking and excited to see the successful implementation of the Post Processors they deliver. They will take the initiative to understand machine tool kinematics for CNC mills, routers, and advance turning centers; combining this knowledge with CNC control syntax to implement software solutions for our clients. This position requires individuals highly capable of solving complex math problems, comfortable with programming and ideally possessing a background in engineering. The ideal candidate has an aptitude and passion to develop software and enjoys being hands-on to develop code. This is a terrific opportunity for an established CAD/CAM professional, or an inquisitive, experienced engineer with an ability to solve real world technical issues with programming and math-based solutions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work closely with our global manufacturing clients to develop, customize and support NC Post Processors for Mastercam CAD/CAM Systems to program computer-controlled machine tools.
- Build Post Processor driven machine simulation environments.
- Research and evaluate CAD/CAM solutions to advanced manufacturing capabilities for our end users.
- Have opportunities to mentor and provide technical peer mentorship.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
- BS/BA in mechanical, mechatronics or systems design engineering or equivalent experience in the CNC industry. Prior experience in CAD/CAM or CNC Manufacturing is a plus.
- Manufacturing-oriented CAD/CAM experience, especially with Mastercam is preferred.
- Basic programming experience utilizing common languages such as C#, VB.net, C++, etc
- Basic or Advanced knowledge of the MP post language is an asset.
- Broad range of knowledge of CNC machines, controllers, and machine kinematics an asset.
- Understanding customer requests and the ability to perform appropriate testing in Mastercam software.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills.
- Strong time management & organization skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and solutioning skills - particularly complex technical and math problems.
- A self-starter who can work independently and take initiative.
- A pro-active approach to work and an open to change/continuous improvement mindset with a capacity for constant learning from both success and failure.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, and collaboration tools like Teams, Jira, etc.
