Receives, greets, and directs arriving patients.
Demonstrates pleasant personality and proper phone etiquette.
Schedules patients and regular meetings according to guidelines.
Is familiar with Medicare, Medicaid and Insurance prior authorization requirements. Is responsible to see these are completed, faxed and scheduled accordingly.
Works with Business Office to complete patient registration process.
Compiles new patient charts with appropriate forms ensuring that proper written or verbal order is in place.
Tracks prior authorization and certification requirements.
Ensures that paper documentation is scanned into media file of patient's EMR.
Picks up mail, sorts, and delivers.
Maintains filing systems.
Demonstrates ability to operate computer to generate new forms, to enter information into database, and to generate reports.
Types correspondence and reports from rough or plain copy.
Performs a variety of moderately difficult clerical tasks.
Has basic knowledge of medical terminology.
Replaces aide staff due to absences or temporary increase in census.
Participates in staff meetings, continuing education programs, continuous quality improvement programs and quality assurance. Attends mandatory in services yearly, CPR, Fire, Safety, Disaster and Infection Control. Complies with universal blood and body fluid precautions.
Adheres to personnel and departmental policies and procedures.
Is able to assess the developmental needs of patients from infant to geriatric and plan/adjust care, services, and instruction appropriately within the scope of his/her job responsibilities.

Participates in and is an advocate of departmental and interdepartmental communication within facility to facilitate improved customer service and patient outcomes.
Reports to work when scheduled. Demonstrates flexibility of personal time when requested to come in on a scheduled day off.
Adheres to facility and departmental safety policies. Notifies supervisor of any safety concerns/hazards of staff and/or patients/residents.
Successfully completes required annual job specific competency testing.
Work time is used productively, equipment and supplies are taken care of properly (cost conscience use of supplies, disposable/non-disposable/recycled), breaks and lunches are within the time allotted.
