Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Regulatory Engineer, you will be a critical part of Lion Energy's next generation of Energy Storage and Portable Power products. From research and design to implementation, you will be on the front lines of product development and carry responsibilities for the regulation and compliance of our products.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
  • Develop, propose, and implement regulatory and compliance strategies.
  • Maintain regulatory conformity based on requirements and certifications for assigned products and systems developed by Lion Energy
  • Evaluate and report necessary incidents to the appropriate regulatory agencies
  • Work in conjunction with Quality Engineering to ensure all departments and business units comply with federal, state, local, and international quality regulations
  • Conduct on-site evaluations, surveys, research, and investigations of operational projects to ensure adherence.
  • Prepares reports of findings and makes recommendations on the engineering or architectural integrity, safety, and efficiency of products
  • Assists in the coordination of electrical product safety testing, listing, and maintenance to applicable domestic and international standards
  • Help establish and manage the relationship with suppliers and contractors to ensure the certification process is maintained, from prototyping to volume production
  • Contributes to KPI's that describe the conformance of the products in a cross-functional capacity

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Regulatory Engineering or related role
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred, or its equivalent in experience
  • Experience with Portable Power, Solar, and Energy Storage Systems a plus
  • Electrical/Electronic knowledge desired
  • Familiarity and assistance with the various environmental compliance regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, as well as document management systems such as SharePoint, Jira, and Confluence
  • Experience in interfacing with applicable external test houses, laboratories
  • Familiar with RMA, NCR, SCAR, and CAPA quality processes for continuous improvement
  • Experience with Hazardous Materials Class 9 (lithium batteries) Dangerous Goods transportation requirements preferred
  • Excellent oral and written tactful business interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to multi-task and follow up on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Technical ability, knowledge, and research skills allowing data & research to drive decisions
  • Pro-active, initiative-taker with strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Overall knowledge of Lion Products is a plus
