Purchasing Assistant

Job Description Summary

Primary duties and responsibilities including assisting the purchasing function of the plant and maintain sales data in the PLEX ERP system. Works closely with Engineering department in order to effectively streamline quotes, engineering changes, and customer orders. Provides administrative support as required.

Job Description

• Provides administrative support for plant activities including assisting in the preparation and submission of requests for quotes. Facilitates quote status and proposed engineering changes. In doing so, reviews incoming orders and enters data into PLEX.
• Prepares, reviews and tracks purchase orders through the purchasing process. Inputs changes into the purchasing system, including inventory purchase orders, price changes, and system updates.
• Serves as primary plant contact by answering phones and resolving and/or routing calls to appropriate plant employee.
• Monitors incoming order status by accessing Customer Plexus sites and processing orders as required.
• Works with Engineering and production scheduling to create job orders for the plant
• Reviews, confirms, and enters customer orders into PLEX.
• Works closely with Engineering department to maintain item master data in PLEX.
• Provides administrative support to plant manager by preparing weekly meeting minutes, distributing payroll checks, and other administrative activities on an as needed basis.

Required Skills and Education

• HS diploma or GED.
• Plex experience is a plus.
• Work on-site, Monday-Friday
